We are glad to inform you\u00a0that the\u00a0<\/span>LANTERN Lunchtime Talks<\/b><\/span>\u00a0are back this academic year.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
These chats\u00a0are a great\u00a0opportunity to present your ongoing (and previous)\u00a0work (e.g. PhD projects, research projects, book chapters, articles)\u00a0as well as any relevant personal and professional experiences (e.g. life as a\u00a0PhD student, life after your PhD, life as a teacher educator)\u00a0<\/span>to other\u00a0PGR,\u00a0Staff and colleagues from\u00a0inside and\u00a0outside\u00a0the University\u00a0of\u00a0Manchester.\u00a0<\/span>The idea is to promote a friendly and relaxed environment to share and discuss\u00a0<\/span>what you have been up to<\/span>, obtain\/give feedback and\u00a0<\/span>create<\/span>\u00a0a strong community of researchers in the field of Language education.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
Usually presenters\u00a0have 20-25\u00a0minutes<\/span>\u00a0<\/b><\/span>to share\u00a0their work. Then, we have\u00a05-10 minute questions. Some\u00a0presentations\u00a0are video recorded as this allows our distance members to connect\u00a0with the community. Presenters\u00a0based\u00a0in\u00a0other\u00a0parts of the UK and\/or in different parts of the world\u00a0have sent\u00a0a\u00a0recorded presentation (e.g. voice recorded\u00a0ppt)\u00a0which we play on the indicated\u00a0day, questions to the presenter are sent via email or if the presenter is connected via Skype he\/she can take questions on the spot.\u00a0<\/span>Remember, i<\/span>t is entirely up to you what to present –\u00a0<\/span>either a conference presentation<\/span>\u00a0that you hope to get a feedback for or\u00a0<\/span>a part of your work<\/span>\u00a0that you want\u00a0support and feedback\u00a0for.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
