{"id":11522,"date":"2021-01-12T08:51:21","date_gmt":"2021-01-12T08:51:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lantern.humanities.manchester.ac.uk\/?p=11522"},"modified":"2021-01-12T13:07:05","modified_gmt":"2021-01-12T13:07:05","slug":"newsletter-10-january-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lantern.humanities.manchester.ac.uk\/?p=11522","title":{"rendered":"Newsletter #10 (January 2021)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A (belated) Happy New Year to everyone &#8211; may it end more kindly than it began.<\/p>\n<p>Things to look forward to this year include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a steady stream of researchers moving, at slightly different speeds, towards the finish line (e.g. Ivy, Felix, Sue, Helen, and Huran)<\/li>\n<li>a new series of LANTERN alumni\/associate talks (see below)<\/li>\n<li>further work developing the idea of a resource (and associated training workshops) for &#8220;Publishing during and from\/after a doctorate&#8221; &#8230; watch this space<\/li>\n<li>revised project proposals to be taken through ethical approval (eg Xian and Jing).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Alumni\/Associate Talks<\/span><\/strong> (as confirmed so far, who knows what will happen in March)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fri 15th January, 10.00\/10.15 &#8230; Magdalena De Stefani<\/li>\n<li>Fri 22nd January, 10.00\/10.15 &#8230; Dalal Al Abassi<\/li>\n<li>Fri 29th January, 10.00\/10.15 &#8230; Huran Mirillo<\/li>\n<li>Fri 5th February, 12.00\/12.15 &#8230; Duygu Candarli<\/li>\n<li>Fri 12th February, 12.00\/12.15 &#8230; Fida Sahar<\/li>\n<li>Fri 19th February, 12.00\/12.15 &#8230; Natasha Tsantila<\/li>\n<li>Fri 26th February, 12.00\/12.15 &#8230; Ivy Taslima<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This flow of talks, by an mixture of alumni, current students, and research associates, is very pleasing. LANTERN has indeed woken up after is slumber of 2019.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Reminder:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Everyone can post &#8230;. so please share any news items, details of upcoming calls for papers, chapters articles etc, conference announcements, new books published, not forgetting your work-in-progress, your news of successes (re employment, publishing, submissions, vivas, etc).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">{CONCEPTUALISING}<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One new type of posting this year is the {CONCEPTUALISING} strand, with posts already up regarding:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>intercultural musicking<\/li>\n<li>interthinking and collaboration<\/li>\n<li>intercultural personhood (imminent)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>I wonder what the February Newsletter #11 will bring &#8230;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A (belated) Happy New Year to everyone &#8211; may it end more kindly than it began.
