Submissions for this issue will be due on <\/span><b>April 19, 2021<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Feel free to contribute and to reach out to friends and colleagues who might also like to contribute.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are looking for:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Feature articles<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (up to 1,750 words). Share your research projects, classroom practices, professional development, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Lessons<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; share a lesson or unit you have found to be effective.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Anecdotes and stories<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (up to 1,000 words). Have you observed something interesting or unique? Do you want to share your thoughts and reflections on something that happened in your practice? There is space for that in our newsletter!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Compilation and evaluation of useful resources<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (up to 700 words). Share a bibliography or a list of references that always comes in handy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Interviews<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; Interview professionals in the field, a member of the TESOL community or beyond.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Reports and reviews<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (up to 700 words). Write about a great book or an article that you read, or talk about a conference that you attended.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Conferences, webinars<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (upcoming webinars, are you a member who would like to share ideas in a webinar?)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are copies of past newsletters on our community<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/my.tesol.org\/communities\/community-home?CommunityKey=7347e5a6-a335-483c-adf9-45c56dcd9e46\"> <b>webpage<\/b> <\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">if you want to check out for some reference and inspiration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>GENERAL SUBMISSION QUICK GUIDE<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Submissions should<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">have the title in ALL CAPS,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">list a byline: author\u2019s name with hyperlinked email, affiliation, city, country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">include an author photo,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">include a 2-3 sentence (or less) teaser for the Newsletter Homepage,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">be no longer than 1,750 words (includes bylines, teasers, main text, tables, and author bios),<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">contain no more than five citations,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2- to 3-sentence author biography at the end of the article, written in the third person,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">follow the style guidelines in the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 7th Edition<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (APA style) or <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/owl.english.purdue.edu\/owl\/resource\/560\/05\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Purdue OWL<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">be in .doc or .docx format.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>All figures, graphs, and other images should be sent in separate jpg files.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>You can also co-author a piece with a colleague.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>If the author includes a photo, it must be:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a head and shoulder shot<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a jpg<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">width = 120px, height = 160px<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">clear, clean, professional, appropriate to the article<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The newsletter is a great venue to showcase your work and share your ideas with our community<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We look forward to seeing your submissions!
