{"id":2455,"date":"2011-07-05T06:41:05","date_gmt":"2011-07-05T05:41:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/edtechandtesol.info\/phd\/?p=2455"},"modified":"2015-12-13T17:17:11","modified_gmt":"2015-12-13T17:17:11","slug":"work-towards-a-new-raw-contribution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lantern.humanities.manchester.ac.uk\/?p=2455","title":{"rendered":"Work for a RAW article (on reflection)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Juup and I have been teaching and researching\u00a0together in the area of <strong>Developing Researcher Competece (DRC)<\/strong> for some years now &#8211; for example see the earlier &#8216;In the Raw&#8217; posting about the work &#8211; on which\u00a0Juup had led\u00a0&#8211; regarding DRC and intentionality as set in an ecological psychological perspective.<\/p>\n<p>The DRC course we co-tutor makes substatial use of reflection as well as empasising the place of reflexivity in many of the types of research that our MA students undertake during their (academically-located and\u00a0research-infused studies which can be characterised also as\u00a0practitioner-oriented, context-focused, continuing professional development) MA studies with us at LTE.<\/p>\n<p>We are now beginning work on a new piece focusing on the reflective practice aspects of the DRC curriculum we teach and also\u00a0research (as part of our own reflective practice process). This preparation will lead to a RAW session in the autumn, but our preparation will begin now, and involves weekly joint readings of\u00a0articles in the key\u00a0areas. We are beginning this week with:<\/p>\n<p>Schon, D.A. (1992).\u00a0The theory of inquiry: Dewey&#8217;s legacy to education.\u00a0<em>Curriculum Inquiry<\/em>, 22(2): pp. 119-139.<\/p>\n<p>This is available via the Library&#8217;s e-journal collection.<\/p>\n<p>As our topic may be of interest to others, and as the preparation process for article drafting may also be worth illuminating further, we will post throughout this preparation process and would welcome contributions, participation, comments etc from anyone else interested.
