The alert amongst yuo will note Miri&#8217;s name, but also I am also pleased to see Dimi (co-supervised by Zeynep, a member of the LTE team in some ways) and also Su (who has now started attending Narrative Natters, the fortnightly onsite discussion and support group for narrative researchers \u00a0(which involves quite a few of our LTE Doctoral Community):<\/p>\n<p>Olwen writes: &#8220;I am delighted to announce that the School of Education has been very successful again this year in the award of scholarships. Three applicants have been awarded <strong>ESRC<\/strong> scholarships:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sarah Darley-Nolan<\/strong> Investigating: <em>Can eLearning help increase recruitment and retention of volunteers for the Charity sector in England?<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Dimi Kaneva<\/strong> Investigating: <em>Transition from primary to secondary education in England: Understanding the experiences of children and young people with English as an additional language in the North West\/Greater Manchester area<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Su Cororan<\/strong> Investigating: <em>Educational experiences of boys and young men who have formerly lived on the streets of Thika, Kenya<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0Additionally two <strong>GTRA<\/strong> awards were made to the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0<strong>Miriam Firth <\/strong>Investigating: <em>From study to industry: Stories on Becoming a Vocational Manager<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Andrew Davies <\/strong>Investigating:<em> The impact on trade teacher\u2019s professional and teaching identity<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <strong>President\u2019s Doctoral Scholar Award<\/strong> went to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Zhe Zhang (Joseph)<\/strong> Investigating: <em>Undergraduate Student Engagement in China and UK<\/em><em><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Many congratulations to all award winners, we wish you every success in your studies and look forward to hearing more of your research in the near future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>See below for a message from Olwen about the latest recipients of these awards.
