3 Senior Lectureships and 1 Lectureship (Lecture B)

Applications are invited for three Senior Lectureships and one Lectureship in Applied Linguistics and TESOL. The successful candidates will be expected to make major contributions to our teaching and research, particularly our Master’s programmes in Applied Linguistics and TESOL (including MA in TESOL Pre-Service) and doctoral supervision. Expertise in any area of applied linguistics and TESOL will be considered, but we are especially in candidates with expertise in second language acquisition, language testing, discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, bilingualism and multilingualism, corpus linguistics and intercultural communication.

Formal advertisements are expected to be out within May with deadlines for applications in late June. Successful candidates will be expected to take up positions on 01 September 2016 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Candidates need to have a PhD in Applied Linguistics, TESOL or a relevant subject, (for the SL posts) substantial experience in teaching and supervision of postgraduate students, and a track record in securing research funding, managing research projects and producing research publications of international significance; (for the Lectureship) experience in teaching and supervision at postgraduate level, and proven ability to undertake academic research and produce publications of high quality.
