Kaleidoscope 2016

Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday and especially to those who took up the challenge to present something creative. I think Khwan summed up the ‘Kaleideoscope’ theme well (although I can’t remember the exact three words you used Khwan!), but it was to do with reflecting on things from new and fresh perspectives; seeing things through a different lens.

It was great to see so many people there: 23 people attended on site including 3 alumni (Mariam, Paul Smith and Eljee), Siân and her student Nouf, from Salford, 5 members of staff, and lots of current PhD students (onsite and in-context students). Magdalena joined us from Uruguay, Ivy from Bangladesh and Dylan from South Korea. There were several PechaKucha presentations, two ‘stories’ and some videos. I’m attaching the programme for posterity Kaleidoscope programme

Below are some pictures that Gary took of the event, which might help us to remember.

  • Susan, just to echo the thanks for organising the Kaleidoscope event. I really enjoyed it and wish I could have stayed for the whole thing. There is such a good sense of community among the group.

Hope to see you all soon.

Thanks, Susan for organising the event. It was great to meet everyone, both onsite and online, to listen to amazing stories from different perspectives, and most importantly, to morally support each other.

The three keywords I used were “creative”, “reflective” and “constant changing” (which I take to mean “progressing”).
