{academic workshop}“Dialogue with and among the Existing, Transforming and Emerging Communities” 

The workshop will provide a forum for peers to exchange research, best practices, and ideas related to existing, transforming, and emerging Communities associated with dialogue on a global scale. It will include a total of 12 paper presentations as well as keynote speakers from different parts of the world addressing the following themes.

1. What are the effects of the Covid-19 Pandemic on the evolution and transformation of communities and community life around the globe? What are the responses of the communities to the pandemic?
2. What kind of access challenges have been faced by communities in the pandemic and how can dialogue be used effectively to break down barriers of race, class, and culture?
3. Did the Covid 19 pandemic and the ensuing lockdowns result in new types of community connections? Did this situation enable different dialogue engagements that were not possible or common before?
4. Is dialogue across communities feasible? How can this be facilitated?
5. What is the role of dialogue in overcoming challenges related to communities in general?
6. What are the dialogic relations and challenges between emerging (virtual or otherwise) and traditional communities?
7. What kind of dialogic engagements happen between minority and majority communities: Is dialogue a force of integration or assimilation?
8. Intra-community dialogue and the future of communities
9. Transnational communities and transnational dialogue(s)
