It is also quite possible that I actually spammed myself since I also get a lot of emails with a request to moderate a “spammable” comment…

It’s better than to have a lot of spam included here.

I am for the time being content to keep it as open as possible and live with the spam consequences 🙂

  • I delete quite a few myself, so it’s possible that it was mistagged by me (?).

Some possible solutions to comment spam include limiting comments to registered members, requiring contributors to fill in a CAPTCHA, or disabling comments in certain posts / after a period. All of them are intrusive, and none of them terribly effective, though.

Spam is qute a nuisance in WP once we start using it regularly, i..e the more we post, the more spam we seem to get. I have no idea if this can be resolved but nowadays I must get 10 spam messages daily. So, if I accidentally tagged yours as spam, Magda, I apologise 🙁 However, you should be able to post without my approval (this is what normally happens) so I am not sure why this has happened ….

Had it been saved in draft only?

I posted a comment here a couple of days ago, but it has disappeared.

I’ve just had a browse. It looks promising. Here is an interesting piece of information (I hope they don’t mind I’m posting it here), concerning a CALL FOR PAPERS – until the end of September:

    Qualitative Researcher
    http://www.wiserd.ac.uk/publications/qualitative-researcher

Qualitative Researcher is a publication edited by the Wales Institute of Social and Economic Research, Data and method (WISERD); funded through the ESRC and HEFCW, WISERD is a collaborative venture across the Universities of Cardiff, Swansea, Glamorgan, Aberystwyth and Bangor. In keeping with WISERD’s current and ongoing programme of work in developing and engaging with interdisciplinary methodological innovations in qualitative social science, Qualitative Researcher provides a forum for the publication of short articles discussing and critiquing both the state of art and existing key debates in the designing, conducting, and representation of qualitative research. The journal has previously featured articles covering a range of substantive topics and methodological approaches from established academics and early-career researchers and we seek to maintain this cross section of authors. In addition to the regular themed issues of the journal, weare currently issuing an open call for articles to feature in forthcoming issues of the journal. In keeping with the aims of the journal we encourage opinion pieces and polemic articles from any area of the social sciences that have the potential to stimulate debate within the qualitative research community. Submissions should be between 1500-2000 words and it is preferred that references and footnotes should be kept to a minimum. Although all articles are subject to peer-review, we aim for a quick turn around from submission to publication.

For further enquiries and submission of articles please contact the editorial team at wiserd@cardiff.ac.uk.
