For the upcoming REF exercise here in the UK, we’ve been asked to supply data on where our Doctoral Community has been publishing since 2008. The ‘snag’ is that they are only interested in journal articles – a point we should all take note of in terms of what it indicates about the value attached to different kinds of pubications (eg in academic post interviews) – and thank you to everyone who has let me know where they stand vis-a-vis this stock take.

Hopefully, soon I will smarten the publications and related pages in this blog. I appreciate that many of you have other blogs where you write things duplicated (hopefully) here. This blog serves a significant function in keeping our areas of work on the radar at Manchester (and it is because we are on the radar that we have such a prominent place in the latest PGR funding news on the School’s PG webpages) so I encourage you all to keep active here as well.
