Just a line to let you know that Adrian Holliday has just launched his new blog. You can access his posts here (for a full view of each post please click on the date).
I was all excited about a Thursday in October when I thought I might be able to come to Adrian Holliday’s presentation (I will be in Manchester for a week in October) – but now I’ve seen Richard’s note that it’s in November… 馃檨
Thank you for posting the link to Adrian Holliday’s blog. It is really helpful to be reminded that even widely published scholars like Adrian struggle with other people’s readings of their work, and the demands of journals. This is clearly something that doesn’t end with the viva, and is in fact part and parcel of academic life, the message being I suppose ‘Struggle on’ 馃檪
It is 馃檪 I’m not sure of the plan for the day but Adrian has been invited by Dr Siobhan Brownlie (my joint programme director for the MA in IC) on behalf of her Centre for Translation and Intercultural Studies (CTIS) which has a seminar series during semetser-time, every Thursday afternoon. I’ll post more details when I know them. If we can get adrian to do something for TESOL as well (e.g. in the morning), great.

Thanks Richard. Would like to attend if it is an open event.
Actually, it’s November 14th 馃檪 afternoon.
I”ll double check the date; it’s a Thursday in October I think; he’s coming as part of the CTIS seminar series (translation studies).
This is good news. When will Adrian be coming? Will he be giving a presentation?
Thanks for posting it, Mariam. Very interesting and important to me since I use some of Holliday’s concepts in my PhD work! 馃檪
