Event Description
Globalization is a compelling force in universities worldwide. In striving to achieve the ideal of a truly international university, hiring the best scholars and educators in their fields regardless of nationality is a central objective at most top-flight institutions. What are the experiences of scholars who work in the field of intercultural communication in navigating their interpersonal relationships at the transnational workplace? How do they negotiate their multiple aspects of identities? What adjustments do they make at linguistic and interactional levels? How do these experience impact on their approach to researching intercultural communication and vice versa? And above all, what advice do they provide for those who aspire to work and live abroad? These are the key questions to be addressed in the newly published book, Crossing Boundaries and Weaving Intercultural Work, Life, and Scholarship in Globalizing Universities (Routledge, 2016). A link to the book’s web page may be found here.
