Get baking for mental health charity ‘Mind’

If you enjoy baking then why not bake for charity? This is an awareness raising event organised by Adam Lavery of the Equality and Diversity team. You don’t have to bake – you can go along and buy cakes too to help support the charity. It is also an information and discussion event, for staff and students, and will include information about support services and wellbeing activities within the University.
Volunteers to bake cakes requested for 4th February – all proceeds to Time to Change
1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year (Mind), yet there continues to be stigmas and misconceptions around mental health.
Help break the silence
Thursday 4 February 2016 is Time to Talk Day, and Time to Change is asking the nation to take 5 minutes to have a conversation about mental health.
We’re asking staff and students to ‘Take a Break’ and join us in the University Place foyer between 11am-2pm on Thursday 4th February, where we will be holding a bake sale to raise money for the mental health charity Mind. Last year we managed to raise £107 for this great cause.
We’re calling for volunteers to bake (or donate) cakes, brownies, biscuits or flapjacks.
Get involved and make a difference
